Heather Baer served as an Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County from 1994 through 1998. There, she prosecuted major felonies in the Lowell and Middlesex Superior Courts and other cases in multiple districts courts throughout Middlesex County. Heather received the Harshbarger Special Achievement Award in 1996. Heather has also been selected as a Rising Star, placing her among the top 2.5% of Lawyers under the age of 40, in the Massachusetts Super Lawyers list of Law & Politics appearing in Boston magazine for the last four years.
Heather has tried approximately 50 jury trials and over 100 bench trials. Heather defends clients in serious white collar and other criminal matters in both the State and Federal Courts. She also represents the interests of corporations and individuals who are the subject of government investigations. In addition, Heather works extensively in the areas of complex tort litigation, business disputes, products liability matters, employment disputes, banking matters, and probate litigation.
Heather graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1990. She received her J.D. from Boston University Law School in 1994, where she served as a case note editor on the Boston University International Law Journal. Heather was an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar in 1994. She is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
