"Our aim is to provide the best litigation services available. We believe that concept extends beyond executing a winning strategy in specific cases. We help our clients manage case volume - by using business tools like budgeting and estimation. The overall approach has to make sense."

Frank Sally founded Sally & Fitch LLP with Jonathan Fitch in 1984, after fourteen years as a trial lawyer with Bingham, Dana & Gould. He is a 1966 graduate of Boston College and a 1970 graduate of Suffolk Law School. Frank has been listed annually as a "Massachusetts Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics in Boston Magazine. In December 2008, he was named one of "Boston's Best Lawyers" in a supplement of Incisive Media published in the Boston Globe Magazine.

Recommendations

From the General Counsel of a Pharmaceutical Company:

I've known Frank Sally for over 15 years; first as a colleague in private practice, then as outside counsel assisting Thermo Fisher Scientific and me with thorny litigation matters. He has a well-earned reputation for integrity, straight talk, legal acumen and the ability to obtain favorable results in a cost-effective fashion. If Allergan were to face a commercial litigation matter in Massachusetts, I would be pleased to recommend to our director of litigation that we use Frank - that's the highest praise a general counsel can give to any outside counsel.

From Former In-house Litigation Counsel at a Major Utility:

My name is John Walsh and I am writing regarding Attorney Frank Sally and the law firm of Sally & Fitch LLP located in Boston, Massachusetts. As an attorney in Massachusetts, I was employed as Assistant General Counsel in the Legal Department of the Boston Edison Company. Boston Edison Company which is now known as N Star is an investor-owned regulated electric utility serving approximately 2,000,000 customers in Eastern Massachusetts.

My duties at the Boston Edison Legal Department for over 25 years included resolving personal injury and property damage claims and lawsuits in both the State and Federal Courts arising out of the operation of the electric generation and distribution business. Over the years claims of all types and nature were filed. They ranged from million dollar property damage claims, personal injury, and deaths to claims that the company illegally discontinued electric services to small businesses.

The law firm used by Boston Edison Company that was most reliable and successful and certainly the most economical for my company was the law firm of Sally & Fitch LLP. I personally had day- to-day dealings with Attorneys Frank Sally and Andrea Peraner-Sweet and the 20 associate attorneys in their office. They continually resolved the multitude of claims and lawsuits that were filed against the company. While Boston Edison utilized many big-name law firms in Boston, Edison continued to use Sally & Fitch LLP and I can attest to the fact that the results were far above average in verdicts and settlements and the cost far more reasonable than most other law firms utilized by the company.

I am semi-retired but still practicing law and still referring clients to Sally & Fitch LLP. I know my clients' interests will be well protected, the fees for the services will be reasonable and dealing with that law firm makes one feel their case is the only case on their docket.

Frank is a former President of the Boston Inn of Court. During the course of his career, Mr. Sally has litigated and tried numerous cases, both jury and jury waived, in the Federal District Courts and the Massachusetts State Courts. These have included the representation of a major utility in actions ranging from personal injury claims to matters involving complex contractual issues and allegations of pollution and environmental damage. Mr. Sally has also tried numerous large commercial cases in matters including real estate, commercial loan workout and construction disputes, as well as maritime cases involving both personal injury and cargo and other property damage.

Mr. Sally has been a lecturer for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education's Trial Advocacy Institute since 1980. He is a past member and chairman of the Town of Dedham's Finance Committee, and a past member and chair of the Dedham-Westwood Water District. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, before the United States District Court for the Districts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.

Mr. Sally is a member of the Advisory Council of the New England Legal Foundation. He also serves as a member and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SNCARC (South Norfolk County ARC) and a member of the Board of Directors and Secretary of The ARC of Massachusetts. Both of those organizations provide services and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Mr. Sally has also served as a founding member and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dedham-Westwood Water District and a member and Chairman of the Finance/Advisory Committee for the Town of Dedham.
