Heather Baer served as an Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County from 1994 through 1998. There, she prosecuted major felonies in the Lowell and Middlesex Superior Courts and other cases in multiple districts courts throughout Middlesex County. Heather received the Harshbarger Special Achievement Award in 1996. She was named as a Rising Star in a May 2005 poll appearing in Boston Magazine, an honor awarded to only 2.5% of Massachusetts lawyers under the age of 40.
Heather has tried approximately 50 jury trials and over 100 bench trials. She represents corporate and individual clients in a variety of areas including complex tort litigation, business disputes, products liability matters, employment disputes, banking matters, and probate litigation. Heather has represented clients in both state and federal court at the trial and appellate level. She has also represented clients in alternative dispute resolution proceedings and before administrative bodies including the Board of Bar Overseers, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and the Board of Registration of Medicine. Heather has also represented clients in criminal matters in numerous courts in Eastern Massachusetts.
Heather graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1990. She received her J.D. from Boston University Law School in 1994, where she served as a case note editor on the Boston University International Law Journal. Heather was an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar in 1994. She is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
